Hi, I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Wendy Oelrich (formerly Wendy Melnick). I was born and raised into the sport of purebred dog showing, being mentored and guided by some of the top handlers and breeders in the business. To my credit I’ve personally finished over 300 dogs. I’m one of the co-founders of Kiowa Akitas. As a Breeder/Owner Handler, I’ve finished over 50 dogs that I’ve bred or co-bred, and successfully campaigned to the top 5 or higher, numerous dogs that I’ve bred or co-bred. As a professional dog handler I’ve successfully handled my clients dogs to Group placements and have had all my dogs ranked in the top 10 or higher of their respective breeds. During the past seven years I’ve successfully campaigned Akitas, Siberian Huskies, Portuguese Water Dogs, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Australian Cattle Dogs, Shelties, and Schipperke’s. My dogs always come first, my assistant(s) and myself don’t eat, sleep or relax until all my dogs are attended to. I treat all my clients’ dogs as one of my own, special diets are provided if needed, my dogs are conditioned to look their very best. While on the road or at home, the dogs are rotated into the house or motel room for one on one bonding time with me.
